MY ROOM
Greetings! I decided to make a little hidden about me page INSIDE the about me page.. heh how cool is that !. Yeah okay anyways I'll probably post my interests here while also struggling with coding. I know its just music right now but do NOT fear I'll aquire more skills and add some books/movies/games that I LOVE!
Music
Yuh so I listen mostly to something spotify classifies as "Indie Pop" (I personally wouldn't describe my music taste as that but meh.) So you can expect alot of Elephant 5 production!! My favourite artist at the moment probably are Gorillaz (duh), Of Montreal, Neutral Milk Hotel, Apples in the stereo and my childhood favourite Asteroid's galaxy tour! Anyways I started a CD collection (I have much more than just Gorillaz but they're my favs) and I decided to showcase them and give each album my honest rating and a little backstory.
My Gorillaz collection is incomplete (Cracker Island,Humanz,The Fall,Space Monkeyz,G-sides,D-sides and newly The mountain missing..)
Review
Plastic beach
Plastic beach is probably one of my most favourite albums ever. I love how it goes from silly lil songs to more sorrowful tracks, that make you ascend. My favourite collab on this album is definitely Little dragon, because her vocals make me weep. Thank you Kitik for getting it for me c:
Self Titled
Ah yes the Self Titled has to be in the top 5, I love the early Gorillaz vibe and Damon's voice in this album (He was high the entire time). Cant't believe Del The Funky Homosapien was on this and that he had his own character and part in the story.Actually an Album I don't have yet (Laika Come Home)is a spin off this album.
Demon Days
Okay I'm gonna be honest this album is definitely not my cup of tea. One of my highlights has got to be Don't get lost in Heaven and November Has Come (MF DOOM is in that track and I really enjoy his work. R.I.P ).Phase 2 is also really cool you can tell Jamie smoked something when writing that lore (who tf is Jimmy Manson)
Song Machine
Song Machine get's really hated, which I don't understand. Yeah it is kinda forgetable and has it's bad tracks, but frigging Elton John was on this album?!(Fun fact Pink Phantom is Elton John's car, in which 7y.o. Damon got picked up from school.) Chalk Tablet Towers and Aries have to be my highlight in this at times confusing album.
The Now Now
Finally a Damon centered album. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Gorillaz collabs, but Damon really needed to be singing somewhere, after Humanz. Anyways this album track really feels like a worse Plastic Beach, but I still really enjoy Fire flies and Humility.. Crazy how they got Snoop Dogg to collab with them again:D
